iTunes, iTunes, iTunes…
3 more albums have finally made their debut on iTunes. E.nergy A.udio R.evolution, Is This Considered Naked, and Initial Spank. So if you don’t care for the whole albums you can now buy individual songs and be done with it!
Practical Insanity has been mastered, the elements of the DVD are being gathered and spruced up. The business plan is done, and the artwork is on it’s way. Pretty soon, you’ll be the first to know about the whole thing and when it’s going to be released etc…
The surround sound mixes sound stunning. They will be the last things to be mastered. You will not be disappointed.
it’s one of those crazy snafu’s. You’re the first artist somewhere and the data gets all goofed up. I’ve been limited in my iTunes exposure and have just been reassured that the albums are there, but for some reason the search function and link maker aren’t seeing them. However, I’ve just seen them in iTunes using special links and bought the CD’s even though they show zero songs. I’ve already sent a trouble ticket to Apple. So hopefully the issue will be resolved shortly and I’ll be able to add the links to all the songs on the music page.
D’oh it’s freshly the 1st of May and just a few moments ago I had registered the domain the for the name of the new CD. So here’s the inside scoop before it gets announced to my e-mail list. Drum roll couple with drum loops please……………… The title of the new release will be: Practical Insanity
It fits the mindset I’ve been in for the past couple of months with all the recording, mixing, and preparation that I’ve been doing. Not to mention it fits the content of the lyrics pretty well too.
I got the Video for All The Things back today in the mail. It looks absolutely fantastic! I’m very excited about it. Just think it will be on the DVD along with tons of other goodies. Including behind the scenes of the making of it. There is also footage for the making of the whole CD.
Join the e-mail list to get even more news, the j-dub army corps. gets privy info that you won’t get here.
Been a cool couple of weeks, needed to sit on the mixes for a bit to make sure they sounded exactly the way I wanted. The songs have been shipped off to the mastering house. Should have them back next week. 🙂
In the meantime I’ve been writing the business plan for going after investors. Whew what a pain in the ass. But I’m learning alot more about the business side of music. Yikes.
I’ve also been told that I’ll be featured on a new website from Sennheiser. It will launch on May 5th I think. I’ll post a link here when it’s live.
I’m also writing some songs for another new artist. Think Evanescence meets dance metal with a male singer. Weird.
Phew…
Finally finished the mixes for the new CD as of 4p.m. today. Now the files go off to the Mastering House to get gussied up for the actual pressing. I’m midway through mixing the Surround Sound versions that will go on the DVD. I have about 6 more songs to go. Should be finished with them well… tomorrow.
The video shoot went very well on Sunday. Though I did get an super sunburn for being out in the sun all day long. I had a great time and according to the director, Byron Turk, whom I spoke with today – the footage is very good. We also had an extra camera running while we were shooting, so there will be a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video. Plus we shot an interview with questions supplied by you, the fan.
My manager and I are getting packages out to Agents and publicists that are interested in working with the first CD Baby artist signed up for iTunes Music Store and the other digital distribution sites. It’s all very exciting. So in the mean time, I’m getting the artwork ready, and writing a business plan. Thus if you know of a Venture Capitalist or two, please point them in my direction or point me in their direction. I have a great concept for the whole plan.
I will be adding the “A Natural Leap Forward” CD/DVD to the music page in the next few days. It should be going off to the digital sites within a few weeks.
Have a great day.
All the recording has been finished up with for the new CD. The last of the drums were done yesterday with a new drummer and recording went like a breeze. I should be finishing up mixes by thursday and getting the last of the surround sound mixes done friday or monday. Then it’s off the mastering house.
Obviously I’m busy over the weekend with the video shoot for the song All The Things. It’s an exciting week to say the least.
I’ve quietly put “A Natural Leap Forward” up on CDbaby. Right now it’s custom copies of the CD and DVD with the full artwork. So it should be making it’s way onto iTunes and other services very soon.
Two other pieces of the puzzle are falling into place too, in the publicity and booking departments we have some great interest happening. So keep your fingers crossed. Also in process of writing a business plan to raise the capital to do a proper campaign with the new release.
Come back again.
A minor web update for ya…
Currently finishing up the mixes for the new CD/DVD. Doing the Surround Sound mixes. Oh my, I LOVE Surround Sound!!! I’m making extra sure these sound stunning. Shooting a video for the song All The Things on April 4th.
Things are moving ahead as planned.
A little bird has told me that Apple will be posting the rest of my CD’s to iTunes in the near future. The never been released “A Natural Leap Forward” will make it’s way onto iTunes in the near future as well.
BTW – there is a seller on ebay selling a copy of E.A.R. Apparently in mint condition. Go get it for a super cheap price from him, if you’re interested.
Stay tuned.
I’m on iTunes Music Store. Click the links for the amalgam CD or just browse my name in the iTunes search window. Still waiting on the whole catalog to show up.
In light of my finally arriving on iTunes after being historically the first non-signed artist to be brought to iTunes. I’m announcing here that the Amalgam CD – Delicate Stretch of the Seems is about to be sold out of physical copies. There are about 30 copies left that can be purchased via CDbaby.com. After that they will become collector’s items.
Now the differences between the Physical version and the Digital version:
1. The Physical Version contains a bonus 16th track that the Digital version does not have.
2. The Digital Version has been re-mixed and re-mastered. Thus providing a better sound excursion.
But don’t take my word for it. Go listen at iTunes, you’ll hear the difference. So when those 30 copies go bye-bye it will be out of print and only available on your favorite digital download site.
Little changes have been happening around the music page. Additional download sites are slowly adding me into their catalogs. I’ve also found a stash of E.A.R. t-shirts. I have some Large and X-Large shirts in either Black or Navy Blue, they’re only $10 while supplies last. Check the music page to get specifics on ordering yours.
Outside of that, I’m starting to sketch out the ideas for the next music video, most likely for “All The Things”. I’m also gathering video footage of the recording process of the new songs coming for the next release. Be prepared for a dual type of thang. A CD with a bonus DVD of video footage. No set plans on the completion date, but I promise it will be cool.
I’m starting to get submitted to several production companies, so it’s keep the fingers crossed time. Why? ‘Cause you may soon hear my tunes on your favorite TV show, maybe a film or two. We’ll see.
Had a great time playing in Phoenix over the first weekend of February. I have to give a big thank you to Jody Gnant for getting me out there and hooking up shows at the First Friday Art Walk, Alice Cooperstown, and Undici Undici. Building that AZ following is coming along nicely. I’m going to work on getting back out there in March and also April.
Take a look in the News archives for the February DVD contest.
Still finishing up some new songs. I will post another song demo in a week.
Stay well in this Flu season. Don’t forget to check me out on the digital download sites.
