The Chargers Got a New Anthem—And It Slaps

The real fun is about to begin. I’ve started the process of creating the artwork for Delicate Stretch of the Seems and all the singles that will be coming out. I’d call it a very nice change of pace from dealing with technical computer stuff.

I’ve finished one cover so far, which includes the animated version that will attend to the release. It’s the most full on one I’ve done to date. So much so that during the process of exporting the animation I was seeing issues.

What I was seeing in Motion was not what was getting rendered. As an end user it’s highly likely you don’t give a shit about the process. On the flip side, I’m one of those nuts who cares who did what and how it was done. And this is one of those moments that would make a great nugget about how something got done.

A phone call with Apple was involved. I had to speak with a Motion specialist from Apple. There was a bit of disconnect in that they weren’t familiar with Motion to the extent that I was using it. Uh oh. That’s a bit rough. In the end, they were able to make a suggestion that ended up fixing the situation – after about 4 failed attempts over 90 minutes.

The best quote from the call: You’re using it in a capacity way beyond what I’m aware of. Not the first time I’ve heard words like that directed at me about something I’m creating or testing out.

Speaking of another creation, this week it is the release of Do You Want to Play for the Los Angeles Chargers. Which means in the not too distant future, the old version will likely be going the way of the dodo bird. Not exactly sure how soon that will be, but in honor of the new Charger fans, I don’t see a need to keep the former version alive on streaming.

If you’re a Los Angeles Charger fan, blast this one loud and proud like a lot of Angelenos do. I look forward to seeing the Chargers putting some wins in the history book and making it look good to boot.

Latest Music Projects and Life in the Creative Lane

One amazing thing is how long it can take to update things. I’ve been doing a lot of it lately. Updating music, updating websites, email, even stuff like toothpaste and pickleball paddles.

In the last several months I tried out several pickleball paddles. Have you missed the fact that I’ve also been eyeing playing pro pickleball? Well, the paddle I was using got banned and the replacement sent to me by the company was less than desirable.

Let’s just say that my game went to shit with it and it was a hunt to find a new paddle. I found it and my game has made a nice comeback. So my quest for pro status is coming round the corner (in musical parlance).

For those that like to take care of their teeth, of which I am one, there was a discussion with a friend back in January about such things. He mentioned something called Nano Hydroxyapatite. A few days later I did a little digging on the subject and found that I aligned with that concept. Now I’m brushing my teeth with toothpaste that contains it.

Of course if you’ve been following the updates I’ve been posting over the last several months, you may understand the plight, trials, tribulations and triumphs around the email. It’s working better than ever before, and that’s great!

As for the websites, they are also doing much much better than a few months ago. So much so that another task is underway to improve them on the backend in a metadata way. It’s going quite well thanks to the new server.

Which brings me round to the music. There is a plethora of music on the way. A lot of it is updates to past music. Making way for the releases of new music yet to come, and yes it is finished and awaiting release.

This week is an update for Do You Want to Play. This time around it’s a version for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders switched homes and now there’s a version for the Raiders of Las Vegas. There’s new artwork and if you’re an Apple Music user, there’s an animated cover along with the Apple Digital Master status.

My friends in Vegas are proud of their new NFL team. And they’re happy about the song to go with it!

  • Inside My Creative Chaos: Tech Failures and the Utah Mammoth Anthem

Inside My Creative Chaos: Tech Failures and the Utah Mammoth Anthem

At what point did the world make such a strange turn? Have you seen Stranger Things? Are we in the upside-down? Or are we in the matrix?

I’m one of those people where the world generally tends to make sense, but in the past few months there’s been some little things that seem like the world is going off on a bizarre tangent. Such is my week.

As this week is getting started I’ve had one issue after another that has set me on a path of putting out odd fires that shouldn’t have started in the first place.

To start, my distributor failed to add some pertinent information in to the last 5 weeks of releases. That is easy to rectify, but it shouldn’t have happened due to the fact that they acknowledged the information prior to release. Argh.

Moving on to two nights ago, my podcast website had a crazy issue with only one table in the database. It stemmed from the transition from the old server to the new one. The table appeared to be ok, but after several weeks of use, it proved that everything worked but that one table. It took 5 hours to solve. It should have only taken 1 hour or less.

Next up, there’s another tech issue I won’t bore you with, it was working and suddenly got hosed without any intervention. Needless to say it’s going on hours of wasted time attempting to get it working again.

Earlier yesterday, I was in a need to restart my computer after working with a musician friend over screen share. During which my headphone output suddenly stopped. This was a software issue. The restart got the audio output working again, but it caused my workstation software to require being authorized again.

In the effort of getting the software authorized again, it wasn’t working. A quick call to a friend had me restarting the computer again. Upon the 2nd restart – all was working again. What in the world?!?

I’d say this also translates to the recent switch made by an NFL team. The coyotes moved to Utah last year. They spent a year being the Utah Hockey Club – ooh, there’s a real winning name (not). Then they decided to throw a few names out to fans.

The end result is the Utah Mammoth. Which is a tad strange because Utah is not known for mammoths. Snow, yes. Mammoths, no. Either way, in my recent updates of all things sports, I’ve finally gotten around to doing a version of Do You Want to Play Utah Mammoth.

Am I happy there is a professional hockey team here now, yes. In fact they do off season training in my home town. Will be nice to run into some of the players from time to time.

Here’s to fixing old issues and resetting to the world to right-side up!

    Stay tuned…
