Being the product of wannabe hippies I got to listen to a lot of old school classic rock from an era long before me. One of the tunes I can remember my dad blasting in the van while driving me around was “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac. So listening to the song right now as I’m typing this I can envision driving around some city (I don’t remember where it was) but he was looking for a skatepark to take me too so we could skateboard. See, that’s how cool my father was – he took me skateboarding and he skateboarded himself. Pretty wild. Maybe the vibe of the lyrics really rubbed off on me because I do tend to go my own way. Don’t you?
Go Your Own Way
Loving you
Is it the right thing to do?
How can I ever change things
That I feel?
If I could
Maybe I’d give you my world
How can I
When you won’t take it from me
You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can call it
Another lonely day
You can go your own way
Go your own way
Tell me why
Everything turned around
Packing up
Shacking up’s all you wanna do
If I could
Baby I’d give you my world
Open up
Everything’s waiting for you
You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can call it
Another lonely day
You can go your own way
go your own way
(Chorus)
You can go your own way…
Call it another lonely day…
you can go your own way…
Enjoy!
p.s. – no Tony Alva is not my dad. It’s just a cool pic from a fun documentary.
